About Me

      I've worked inbistro/brasserie type restaurants and have done catering throughout my career.    Graduated from California School of Culinary Arts in 2002, and went on to do some other types of work (hrm?and hrm?) for a while but just couldn't get away from cooking.  Even as a child, I asked for a set of Meyer Nonstick cookware on my 12th birthday.  The infomercial had Martin Yanendorsing the product, of course I had to buy it!  Watching all the cooking shows on KCET Saturday mornings before the Food Network was even a thought. Who remembers Jacques Pepin, or Jeff Smith, or the Galloping Gourmet?  I guess it's a good thing that my Saturday mornings were filled with those shows during my childhood.  Well I thought I fulfilled my dream by working in a restaurant, and it was great!  But as much as I loved working on the line, I couldn't  figure out why I was itchin' to get out of the restaurants.  All along it was my desire to be mobile  and not be stuck in one place.  cookingmercado offers me that opportunity with the flexibility of almost any food type to cook for you.
